I just read a new blog post by the man who I consider to be my "adopted dad" and spiritual father. Billy Hornsby made such a huge impact in my life at a very young age. What a great father's day this has been! Started out riding to church with both of my beautiful daughters in the car with us. That doesn't happen very often anymore. Next came a great day at Life Church West Monroe with a church full of men and their families. Great worship, great message by Pastor Perry Noble, and some really cool "men" treats after church! We are continuing the day at home with my peeps and a good home cooked meal (my favorite) of hamburger steaks, potatoes and gravy, purple hull peas, rolls, and tea! Looking forward to a good nap in a few. Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers! Quote of the day, "This ain't no sissy church!" (Joel at Life Church this morning. Chick nite rocked tonight at Life Church with 60 ladies in the house! Oh so much estrogen...I had to vacate the building. I am so proud of my beautiful wife Angel and my two gorgeous daughters Hannah And Rebekah. Love seeing all my girls serving God in the house! It was also awesome to have some dear friends with us tonight from Christian Challenge in Pineville La. WOW what energy was in this place tonight!

We are so excited about introducing our new worship leader along with a couple of new band members this Saturday at the Dream Team meeting and this Sunday morning in our worship experience at 10:00 am!If you were able to attend mid-week worship last night, you got a little preview! God has added to our team some really special people and you will get to meet them this weekend. Come ready to get your worship on!

Mike Haman, associate pastor of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge  and author of the book "The Second Mile" will be speaking twice this weekend at Life Church. Mike will speak to our Dream Team on Saturday at 6:00 pm and we encourage everyone to attend whether you are currently a volunteer at Life Church or not. Everyone is invited! Mike will also be speaking Sunday morning in our 10:00 am service. Come early and bring a friend for this exciting service!

My youngest daughter is not so young anymore. I just purchased her first car last week and it was awesome to be able to do that for her. I love both of my daughters more than anything in this world besides their smoking hot mother of course! I was thinking today about raising children and how when we begin the task of raising them, we really don't know anything at all. We do the best we know how and learn alot while we are raising them. When they get to this point where they are driving their own cars and approaching the adult phase of life, you just hope that you have done a good enough job that they will make the right choices and pursue God's will in their life. Of course, you pray everyday in faith that God will keep them and make up for any mistakes you may have made as a parent. Just thinking out loud today. I'd love to hear any thoughts that you might have on the subject.
