Practical Atheist Series

Okay, I am super duper pumped up about the new series kicking off tomorrow at Life Church. Practical series is a series that will be one of the best ever for you to bring unchurched or unsaved friends to. For those of us who have been saved and or in church for years, this will be a series where you will most likely be uncomfortable for the next few weeks...but it will be good for you!

Are we actual Christians or practical atheists? Do we believe what we profess? Are our lives affected by what we read and see in the Bible? Why do we claim Jesus, but deny Him in our daily actions?

Invite some friends to join you tomorrow! Check out this video trailer for the series...

Servolution 2010

We are so excited about the 54 people who recently signed up to serve on our Life Church Serve Team. Many of you have already served in the a Special Olympics outreach, water give-aways, and 2 different homeless outreaches serving lunch to hundreds! We have many more outreaches planned in the future so if you would like to get involved with us, be sure and contact us for more details. Here are a few pictures from the "Under the Bridge" homeless outreach along with a couple of notes from a recent message at Life Church during which I shared about starting a "Servolution" in Northeast Louisana!

Notes:

Serving is not an outreach or event but rather a “CULTURE”.

Servolutions take place by touching ONE LIFE at a time.

Jesus measures greatness by SERVICE not STATUS.

What a powerful service today at Life Church WM as we continued our "I Could Use a Miracle" series with part 2. Today we talked about the paralytic who was let down through a hole in the roof by 4 of his friends. Here are a couple of points from the message:

1. Sometimes the church crowd can get in the way of people coming to Jesus. Ouch! (Vs. 4 - They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd)

2. Faith a not a noun. Faith is a verb. (vs.5 Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.”)

3. Who fixed the roof? We closed the message today asking a question that hardly ever gets asked when we think about this miracle. Who stayed behind to fix the roof?

It takes special people to have the love, the dream, the commitment and the cooperation to knock holes in the roof. But we also need people with selfless love and quiet determination who will fix the roof as well.

To drive this final point home, I stripped off my nice Sunday shirt to reveal one of our Serve Team t-shirts hiding underneath. We issued a challenge for people to join our Serve Team and commit to helping us fix some roofs in the community. Today was fun!

Water to Wine

Today was an exciting day at Life Church as we kicked off our brand new series - "I COULD USE A MIRACLE". We kicked it off talking about Jesus' very first miracle - the turning of water into wine at a wedding in Cana. I am feeling the preach on this series! Here are a couple of nuggets from today's message:

1. Church is to be a celebration not an event. (We sit in service thinking about the chicken that we will consume after church and we should be thinking about the change God wants to do in us during church. Change before chicken!)

2. If you know God well enough and you need Him bad enough, He will show up early.

3. God took something common and ordinary and did something uncommon and extrordinary. (You and I are just water pots but if we will get full, God will change our natural water into something supernatural!)

Perry Noble This Sunday!

YOU DO NOT WANT to miss church this Sunday and that is a promise! Perry Noble will finish us up strong in our One Prayer series with a powerful message. I have heard it and trust me when I say, "It is strong!" Join us this Sunday at 10:00 am for a great worship experience and this incredible message. We promise to have you out in time to still get home and fire up the grill for the 4th of July. Since the day is set aside to celebrate freedom, give God the first part of the day to celebrate His goodness and freedom in our life! See you Sunday!
